'Bound' relates to the ' Shoes: Pleasure and Pain Exhibition'. Whether they were ballet shoes, boots, Chinese binding shoes or evening sandals or slippers throughout the ages, they all seemed to involve the subjugation of women to conform to a preconceived image. To enhance femininity in a savage way, whether the shoe was designed by a male or female designer. 'Bound' experiments with the shapes and textures from this exhibition, enlarging details and suggestions of temptation and subjugation.
